Blockhaus de la rivière-Lacolle
A military structure erected for the War of 1812, the Blockhaus de la Rivière-Lacolle is one of the last such buildings in Canada still standing today. During the 1837-1838 insurrection, the Blockhaus was witness to one of the last battles between the Patriots and the Volunteers. Recognized by Canada’s Historic Places in 1960, it was listed as a heritage building in Quebec’s cultural heritage registry that same year.
